Overview
July 2022 - TKN labratory at TU Berlin. Working together to establish radio ranging for the AvaNodes. In front one can see the 2 orange AvaNodes, that include the ranging chip, and in the background 2 AvaAnchors, the fixed stations that collect the ranging data.

In July 2022 the AvaRange Team met together in Berlin to develop and establish radio ranging for the AvaNodes under the lead of the TKN Team and Falko Dressler. The AvaAnchors, the fixed stations that collect the ranging data, were already developed by Falko Dressler and Jonaß Kuß. In this workshop we tested the reliability of the collected data in the labratory and later on the Tempelhofer Feld.
For avalanche experiments the AvaAnchors will be installed aside the avalanche track and therefore they need to survive in harsh terrain, have an autonomous power supply and be reachable from Berlin even if the processing hardware crashes.
Furthermore we evaluated the last measurement season with the AvaNodes generation II and decided what we want to upgrade and test for gen. III.
